Proposed Amendments to the Central District Bylaws
At the Central District Business Meeting held on 19 October 2024, in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, it was announced that the Central District would begin the much needed process of reviewing its Bylaws (which were last revised in 2013). As such, any proposed amendments would be drafted in advance of the next Central District Business Meeting (2025).
VPG Eells appointed Compatriot Tim Brown (KY) to serve as chairman for this project.
At the Central District Virtual Meeting held on 29 January 2025, Compatriot Brown (KY) presented a first reading of the proposed bylaws amendments. At that time, the leadership of the member state societies in attendance were asked to take the proposed amendments back to their members in order to solicit feedback. Said feedback was ultimately received and was subsequently considered/incorporated into a final version. That final version was reviewed by well-known parliamentarian John Berg, and received his endorsement as to the structure of the proposed amendments.
It was our goal that the final version was to be produced and delivered to the member state societies prior to the 2025 Congress. That goal has now been achieved. The discussion and ratification process of these proposed amendments will take place during the annual Central District Business Meeting, which is scheduled to be held from 1:00-4:00 PM EST in Lexington, Kentucky on (01 November 2025). The Club at UK's Spindletop Hall will be the site of the meeting, and its address is: (3414 Iron Works Pike, Lexington, Kentucky 40511).
